When you buy an expensive painting in a brick-and-mortar gallery, you go to see it in person and decide on the spot whether or not to invest in it. In the case of online sales of lower-priced works, it is not worth the trip across half the country. How do you do that when you are buying on the "basis" of a photograph? When even the artist doesn't want to take the risk of "blindly" sending a painting to a prospective buyer and expecting the money to arrive immediately? But neither does a buyer who doesn't send money up front because he's not sure what the work looks like in real life. How to solve this?
That's exactly why we are here at Original Gallery. A guarantee for both parties. The buyer shows his serious interest by sending money from his account to Original Gallery. We keep it in a deposit and send the artist the information that his work has been purchased. The artist sends us the work, we check it to see if it matches the photograph, if it is damaged, etc. We then hand it over to the buyer. The artist looks at the work and has the option not to confirm the purchase. In that case, Original Gallery would refund his money and send the work back to the artist. However, when he approves the work and confirms the purchase, we release the amount to the artist (it is the price of the painting less our commission of 35% of that price) and send it to his account. Neither party risks anything this way, both are happy.
At Original Gallery you can buy original works for very good money. You will surround yourself with originals that you like and which will express your taste and your personality. You can also think of it as an investment that can grow over time. And also as a support for a creative person who is still building his or her name.
The price listed for each work for sale is final for the buyer, no additional fees apply.
Original Gallery's commission is 35% of the sale price of the work. (We need this commission, among other things, to bring prospective buyers to the Original Gallery to purchase artworks.) The selling artist therefore receives 65% of the sale price for the work sold.
The contractual relationship is between the selling artist and the buyer. Original Gallery acts as an intermediary (similar to a real estate agent in the case of real estate sales). Furthermore, as a guarantor of the delivery of the work in the advertised quality on the one hand and the money on the other.
Once the interested party has paid the required amount via the Original Gallery payment gateway, the work is blocked for sale to other interested parties. The artist has 5 working days to physically deliver the sold work to the Original Gallery (address ORIGINAL GALLERY, Rybnice 100, 513 01 Háje nad Jizerou). Our curators will inspect and photograph the work and arrange for its delivery to the buyer.
The buyer has the following 5 working days to make sure that the work is free of defects, or to return it and withdraw from the purchase.
If everything is in order and the buyer confirms the work is intact, Original Gallery releases the funds to the artist and sends them to their account.
