In the painting "WINTER SILENCE WAITING FOR CHRISTMAS" I explore the theme of renewal and anticipation. I was inspired by my favorite French artist Maurice Utrillo. As with most of his landscapes, I used the impasto technique, using cold color tones and a palette knife, which gives the white-gray landscape a radiant, almost three-dimensional effect. I wanted to evoke a feeling of calm and peace, and invite the viewer to imagine themselves walking through a quiet, snowy, almost toy-like Czech town that will transform into a fairy tale in a few days.
