This painting is expressive with a pop-art/comic-book aesthetic. The main and most prominent element of this work is the face (Harlequin) with striking red hair and a face divided into black/white (sadness/joy, good/evil, calm/madness), set into geometric, broken shapes reminiscent of shattered glass (defiance against conventions, a feeling of rebellion and a desire for freedom). A striking turquoise background color dominates with a hint of brick wall, complemented by a darker green-blue in the broken shapes.
