When I was creating this painting, I wanted to capture something more than just a landscape. I first saw it as a monochromatic scene – calm, melancholic, almost immaterial. But then I realized something was missing. So I added the color of the sky – a striking contrast that brings a gentle hint of hope. I was inspired by Gerhard Richter s technique.
