This painting perceives the landscape as an inner space in which we navigate more by feelings than by reason. The subtly suggested fox represents "good instinct," the inner compass that leads us even when we do not yet see a clear direction. Layers of color and texture create a shifting field where the outer world joins the inner world and the landscape becomes an image of our own movement, attention and alert presence.
