The owl does not appear in the paintings as a symbol or illustration, but as part of the space. The figure merges with the painterly structure and the landscape, from which it only partially emerges. The painting works with the tension between the presence of the figure and its dissolution in its surroundings, thereby creating a state of focused observation and inner orientation.
