Drawing on the legacy of Alexandre Dumas's novel "The Lady of the Camellias", in "La dama aux camelias '26" I explore how femininity, desire and social perception are inscribed onto the body. The floral motif of the relief is not for me a mere decoration, but a carrier of layered meaning that simultaneously refers to beauty and to the burden of cultural expectations.
