This work explores the tension between vulnerability and self-preservation. The dense composition of cacti functions as a visual metaphor for emotional boundaries — protective structures shaped by lived experience. Their rough, thorny surfaces contrast with striking red flowers that grow directly from the thorns and suggest resilience, vitality, and the persistence of inner life. Behind the vegetation appears a partially hidden female figure that transforms the painting from a portrait into an archetypal presence. Instead of revealing identity, the author places
