Anton Šmídek

I have been a photographer and painter for more than 12 years, which allows me to constantly perceive the real life around me, to feel like an observer in the flow of time. The ability to objectively and instantly capture part of the space and mood that surrounds us is, in my opinion, a great strength of fine art. It seems to me that today's interiors are missing a piece of traditional art - the laconic forms and calm colours of contemporary interiors would be diluted by the warmth of the colours of the 17th and 19th century masters. The works of the artists of that era are focused on quiet contemplation and meditation on the image, on what the artist wanted to say. It is a principle that I use in my paintings, and it allows me to temporarily distract the viewer from the hustle and bustle of today and switch his mind to something else that is unrelated to the modern world.I am a member of the International Union of Artists and the Association of Professional Photographers.
