Gabriela Prokešová

Gabriela Prokešová graduated from the Department of Art Education at Masaryk University in Brno. In her watercolours she touches upon themes of family history, her surroundings and interpersonal relationships. She creates compositions of mixing figures or their fragments and environments. Watercolour painting creates a space for the blending of transparent layers. In narrative paintings he reflects on his own experiences, some paintings also serve as diary entries. Figures emerge from their surroundings into the foreground while remaining in the background. They intertwine with their surroundings, with which they are connected in terms of stories. Both the technology of painting in terms of the effects created by the individual glazes and the content are important to the artist. Gabriela Prokešová's self-portraits are represented in the CVIDOS collection of Masaryk University. In May 2022, her works were on display at the exhibition of graduate works Sýpka 2O22. In July and August 2022, the artist's solo exhibition On Space took place at the Rýmařov City Museum.
