Lenka Návratová
Česká republika 🇨🇿
Lenka is a self-taught painter and has moved from sketching at an angle to large-format canvases, which she has stuck to. The main part of her work consists of female portraits depicting various emotions. Her paintings depict women in a thousand forms, where she mostly emphasizes on female strength, emotions and energy, as there is something different flowing in every woman. She tries to bring the colours of the chakras into her paintings, which can enhance inner strength, harmony and intuition through their presence. In addition to women, her other favorite motifs include the animal form of the lion, which symbolizes strength, courage and protection. The lion is a power, totem animal, symbolizing the elemental power of fire - a great spiritual and transformative force. As the author herself states, "In these strange times, we all kind of need our lion." In 2021, she realized an exhibition titled Father Daughter at the gallery in Jezerný, where she combined her paintings with carvings by her father (artist carver Ladislav Borák). Due to its success, the exhibition was extended for several months.
Now you can see her work in a permanent exhibition in Ostrava's cafés Ostravanka and Na kávičku or in Opava's Ó Cafe.
