Mark ta GRIMAUX (1972)In her spare time she is a painter and interior designer. In recent years she has turned to hyperrealism in painting.Hyperrealism is not a technique, but an artistic direction where realistic motifs are captured on canvas with the greatest detail, so that sometimes it is impossible to distinguish a painting from a photograph at first glance. Unlike photorealism, however, it does not question the creative gesture of the artist - it presents his vision and experience of the outside world.Hyperrealism, like many other movements, was a kind of rebellion against the overly serious abstract expressionism and the expressionally limited minimalism.Hyperrealist works are not surreal, they are not a distortion of reality but an accentuation of it, a representation of a reality that never existed. This style was highly precise and mechanical and emphasized the ordinariness of the reality of everyday lifeThe hyperrealist paints things with "maximum depth of field".And this is the direction that the artist Mark ta Grimaux has taken. Her paintings don't have a deep subtext or a long explanation of what is to be seen in the painting, what one sees or doesn't see in the writing. She wants to emphasize the technique she paints with and prioritize the beauty of detail. It is hours and hours of patient work to create a so-called real image.
