I love painting. I create with my heart. I love bright colors.My name is Markéta Taxová and I am a painter of paintings.But it wasn't always that way. When I was a child, I used to paint and draw all the time and I enjoyed it immensely, but as time went by, this passion faded away from me. I started school, I had other responsibilities, clubs, you know... I stopped painting.When it was time to decide what I wanted to do in life, I had no idea. I tried different activities until I landed a job as a private English teacher for a few years. The work was enjoyable, but somehow I still knew it wasn't quite right and I kept looking further and further afield. Until it dawned on me. Painting! Drawing! Painting! That's it!But how to start? I found out that a friend of mine was running an art class and it was decided. I went to a few of them and learned how to work with different techniques. I enjoy being able to alternate between these techniques, plus I'm always discovering new ones. I love colour and colourful work, but sometimes I create in black and white for a change.I paint with my heart and want to bring joy into your life with my art. Sure, you can get a painting from a department store that hundreds of other people have. But it doesn't have a soul. Each of my paintings is given special attention and care, so you can get an original handmade piece that is painted from the heart.I believe that my paintings will brighten your home, beautifully illustrate its atmosphere, bring you positive energy and every look at them will put you in a great mood. How do I create?I love painting with different art techniques and portraying different themes. I adore flowers, animals, nature, you can probably find most of my paintings with these themes. I am fascinated by space and also enjoy creating portraits and mandalas.I choose the technique of my work depending on what I feel like at the time. My work is varied, and so are the materials I use. I work in pastels, oil paint, pencil, watercolour crayons, encaustic and most recently I have become enthusiastic about painting on glass.I paint with my heart and for pleasure. The themes of my paintings come in different ways. In many cases, something or someone catches my eye at first sight and I know immediately that I will portray it. Often I even have an immediate idea of what I will paint with. This way the painting will be based on the subject.Sometimes, based on a beautiful experience, an image is born in my head, and then I transfer it to canvas or paper. This is actually the hardest part for me, because at the beginning of the process the painting usually looks different than I would have imagined. So I have to turn my head off, preferably to banish my thoughts and fully immerse myself in the creation.From time to time I just pick up a crayon, a brush, a pencil... and just start painting. I enjoy having blank paper and creating something new that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. It creates abstract images that everyone can interpret in their own way.How long have I been making paintings? It varies a lot. Some paintings are finished in a minute, others take weeks or months. How is this possible? It depends on the complexity of the subject and the technique chosen. The fastest way to create is just to create without a subject, while the slowest is oil painting, because it has to dry for several weeks or months.
