Martin Erich Vogiel is a painter, photographer, poet and actor who was born in Gliwice, Poland in 1969. He lived and developed his talents here until the age of 20, but Martin Vogiel's desire to see the world led him to the West. After many years in Germany, he finally settled in Essen, where he still lives today. In Poland, after graduating from mining college, he worked underground in the Sośnica coal mine. As he did not like the darkness and gray surroundings of his chosen profession, he took advantage of the situation in Germany and completed a culinary school. The change of profession allowed the artist to be creative when painting on plates, as he says: "These masterpieces are not just uniquely filled with color, smell or taste. They are like snowflakes. They are beautiful, visually pleasing and disappear in the mouth". That was not enough for the artist. He decided to do something in his spare time to keep his creativity alive. First of all, he decided to capture his thoughts on paper. He loved the lessons at the Polish language club. Today, he publishes his convictions written in Polish and German in anthologies such as: Neue Literatur von Fogue`Verlag, Cornelia Goethe Literaturverlag or the Polish-German anthologies " Die Flüchtigkeit des Augenblicks ", " Schatten und Zeit" and " poetry reading 6". He loves to capture time and emotions in his casual photographs. Here in Essen he had his two photo exhibitions: "Eclipse" and " Mirrors". His great passion is to apply texture paste and acrylic paints on the canvas of a painting. Today he is well known in Nordheim - Westphalia from Oberhausen, Essen, Gelsenkirchen to Münster. He has never forgotten his birthplace Gleiwitz. He says: "I love this city and also Essen, where I have lived for 32 years", for which exhibitions such as "Gliwice - yesterday and today" and "Forever your food" were created. People call me a Renaissance man. In addition to photography and painting, he loves to take on different roles in the theater and has performed in various theaters. He received his training under the direction of the Polish director Michał Nocoń and currently plays in the Tandem Theater, with which he is known in cities such as Bielefeld, Solingen, Wuppertal, Darmstadt, Oberhausen or in Poland in Kliczków (near Bolesławiec) and Tarnowskie Góry.
