Martina Trčková (1971)autodidactOriginally from Slovakia, she has been living and working in Brno since 1989. She studied phytotechnics (Ing.), later animal nutrition (Ph.D.), and worked in research for many years. At the age of 47, she decided to end her scientific career and devote herself to creative work. Since 2020 she has been working as an interior designer. She sees her new profession as a form of artistic creation, a way to exercise her aesthetic point of view.She has been drawing and painting since childhood. After her university studies and in her later years, she attended evening courses in figure drawing, which had a major influence on her creative approach. Since 2018 she has been sharing her studio with a group of Brno artists. In recent years she has been working on abstract painting. Her work is characterized by a spontaneous intuitive approach and emotional charge. In her paintings she combines the seen and experienced with the inner. She paints on large canvases that give her space for free gestural action. This can be a subtle, but strong line or a colour tone or shade, which in a sensitive way captures the theme being worked on. She is a lover of colour and layers. Her paintings are represented in several private collections. She has not yet exhibited independently.
