Matěj Hájek

Matěj grew up in the countryside and decided to move to Prague at the age of 22. He sees Prague as a place full of contrast between the traditional way of life and the hectic, anonymous present. Mafis was inspired by this timeless place and expressed these feelings in his artworks, especially through various thematic motifs such as order and chaos, nature and the metropolis, individualism and collectivism - a society of consumers. The same applies to technique, expressed through a combination of sharp lines, geometry and abstracts that create a sense of balance in an eternal tension of vibrant colours.In addition to painting paintings, which are often combined with detailed drawings, he also designs tattoos.
