Milli Janatková is a distinctive artist and musician with roots in Pošumava and the Bohemian Paradise. She travels frequently and likes to travel, currently based in Prague. Her artistic focus is on the theme of landscape with a deeper theme of self-discovery and the path to balance. This theme is reflected in subtle and energetic shades in watercolor and color linocut painting. The artist creates the watercolour directly in the plein air. The paintings are then the model for the creation of linocuts and eye-catching matrices, which become artifacts that highlight the patient process of engraving. Since 2003, the artist has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions (Paper View New York, Konta Bariéry Artists' Salons, Muse for Children, etc.) She has received three honorary mentions for printmaking (Graphic Art of the Year Prague, International Rokycany Biennial). In music, she sings, plays guitar and drums, improvises and composes original songs. In the Hluboko project, the artist brings the oldest Czech songs to life, including creative pilgrimages to our oldest architectural monuments. In conjunction with the project My Roots, she creates a family tree, travelling to the places where her ancestors lived and painting primarily the horizon of the landscape as a symbol of the continuing family line.Currently she is a freelance artist and gardener.
