A painting can be your hope in your darkest hour, your energy when you don't have the strength to get up, your peace when everything is too much, and your joy in the midst of lethargy. It can be your mirror where you get to know yourself, an idea that changes your view of the world, a support on your life's journey, an interpreter when words are not enough, or a reminder of your true nature.
My name is Misha Fryč and this is the purpose of all my work. It is to convey an idea or awareness to get you thinking about your life, or to offer an opportunity for growth or inspire change.
It's there to awaken hope in you for a better life and then support you in realizing it. Why do I create? Simply because without hope and support I wouldn't be here on my own. I've been very withdrawn and without a shred of self-confidence since I was a little girl.
I was scared to speak and only started expressing myself through my first abstract paintings. My journey of self-development started with the book The Power of the Present Moment, which opened my eyes at 16 and for the first time I was able to differentiate myself from my thoughts. Over time I started to overcome my fears and painted pictures based on my life. I used the symbolism and visions that came to me on the subject and then transferred these to the canvas. In addition to the paintings, I began to write my stories and realizations to help me move forward. I realized that I was not alone in dealing with certain things in my life and that my painting could help someone else. By this time I was working in a factory where I often felt like a soulless robot doing the same thing every day.
I used to hear my soul crying and couldn't sleep at night while I wondered if such a life made sense to me at all. The only thing that made sense to me was painting. Through a few more books and various courses, I discovered that there was a way I could make a difference after all.
The new hope allowed me to create a vision of a better life and by changing my inner setup I started to feel success, which later was further proof that I was really up to it, which allowed me to leave the factory and I have been working on my own ever since. I believe that hope for a better life can mean the difference between life and death.
That's why I do it. Art is like a window through which our souls can speak to us and shine through our embedded lives. It's a portal to infinite possibilities, while our minds tend to limit and bind us. And that's exactly what reminds us of who we really are.
