Architect and painterBlanka Hrabětová She was born in Vysočina. She acquired the basics of painting with the Havlíčkobrod painter Jan Jůzl and further in the studio of professor Jaroslav Kándl at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University. Now she lives and paints in Roudnice nad Labem. The author's source of inspiration is nature. She loves landscape views and the theme of the sea. She uses her architectural education in her compositions. Abstraction is typical for her, drawing motifs from nature. She tries to simplify them and free them from unnecessary details. She enjoys playing with colour, shape and surface. She composes her paintings from pure coloured surfaces, but emphasises the appearance of the whole. She paints for pleasure with a desire to convey her feelings to others.
