Blanka Hrabětová

Architect and painter
She learned the basics of painting from Jan Jůzl, a painter from Havlíčkův Brod, and later in the studio of Professor Jaroslav Kándl at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Nature is the artist’s source of inspiration. She loves views of the landscape and the theme of the sea. She draws on her architectural training in her compositions. Her work is characterized by abstraction, drawing motifs from nature. She strives to simplify them and strip them of unnecessary details. She enjoys playing with colors, shapes, and surfaces. She composes her paintings from pure color fields, but emphasizes the overall effect. She paints for pleasure, hoping to convey her feelings to others.
