Klaudie Švrčková is a painter in the field of contemporary modern art, and despite her young age, she has already held a considerable number of solo exhibitions.
She was born in 1998 in the city of Český Těšín in Silesia. After successfully completing her secondary education at an eight-year gymnasium in Český Těšín, she enrolled in the Faculty of Business and Management at Brno University of Technology, where she earned her engineering degree in 2023.
Klaudie Švrčková has been drawing and painting since she was a child. Even though she never attended an art class or art school, she found meaning in painting. Since 2015, her focus and use of color have shifted primarily to canvas.
The focal point of her current work is a combination of acrylic-tempera painting with elements of Pop Art and a contemporary style, primarily applied to portraits. Her Pop Art-inspired paintings reflect, in their own distinctive way, the feelings, opinions, problems, and joys of people in the world we live in—a world in which the artist seeks to inspire reflection.
Klaudie Švrčková held her first exhibition in Brno in 2018. Since then, she has been actively pursuing her artistic career and has achieved numerous successes. She has participated twice in a joint international exhibition as part of the “Open Studios” festival, as well as in an exhibition at the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, and has held over fifty solo exhibitions throughout the Czech Republic.
In addition to painting canvases, she began dedicating herself to painting walls and public spaces in 2022. For example, she painted the Demeloch underpass in Český Těšín, which came to life with color and was a huge success. Children can find their favorite fairy-tale characters there, while older visitors are delighted by the silhouettes of famous figures such as Einstein, Salvador Dalí, and Marilyn Monroe. The murals also weave in the history of the city.
In 2023, she also contributed her art in Brno, where she decorated old, disused telephone booths. A total of seven booths are now painted with motifs on the themes of philosophy, mathematics, literature, art, and natural sciences, complemented by portraits of prominent Brno figures from these fields.
In addition to outdoor spaces, she has also beautified the walls of a retirement home in Český Těšín, the Husova Elementary and Preschool in Brno, and many other locations with her paintings. Her original paintings also adorn, for example, the helmets of the Czech national team member and 2023 Czech champion in BMX freestyle.
This is just a small selection of the projects Klaudie Švrčková has completed, and there are still many more she is looking forward to and preparing for.
