This painting is dominated by a wide-eyed cat whose gold dollar-shaped medallion symbolizes the obsession with wealth. Before him lies a goldfish – a symbol of granted wishes, but also of greed. The painting playfully depicts the human desire for possessions and questions whether accumulating things really makes us happy.
