Description

An Interpretation of Botticelli. Inspired by Jana Koptová’s music video—“Botticelli’s Girl.” The bite mark on the throat symbolizes an undead, yet dangerous (and, in a certain philosophical sense) monstrous beauty. Framed in a “cracked” gold finish. Wooden frame, 3 cm wide.

In the painting *Anathema*, Roman Sklenička depicts a young woman with a firm, slightly provocative gaze. Her bun, white gown with gold embroidery, and dark background create the impression of someone standing on the border between the sacred and the forbidden.

The artist works in his characteristic realistic style; the subtle rendering of the skin, hair, and light lends the figure an almost tangible presence. The word “Anathema” in the upper corner is not merely a title but a silent sign.

A hand-painted original that brings to the space a tension between beauty and a curse. A painting that gazes back with both calm and defiance.

Realistic figuration in the style of a classical portrait.
