Description

An intense esoteric work from a series of numbers and artoglyphs by artist Roman Turcel. The number 9 appears here as the archetype of Mars, the planet of war, action, and transformation.

The number nine symbolizes the end of a cycle, fulfillment, and success, but it also carries aggressive energy, courage, conflict, originality, as well as vulnerability and naivety. Its visual symbol consists of three intertwined triangles, representing the trinity of man, woman, and child, or dream, vision, and fulfillment.

The image is raw, expressive, and full of inner tension. The distorted figure, with its dramatic hand gesture, seems to express struggle, despair, and triumph at the end of a great cycle. Dark, red, and gray tones underscore the Martian energy—the destruction that precedes a new birth.

The painting is executed and mounted in its final form without a frame, featuring a 3 cm wide painted edge into which the composition flows seamlessly, giving it a monumental and modern character.

As Galileo Galilei said:

“Numbers and mathematics are the language in which God speaks to us.”

Roman Turcel has been exploring this theme in his recent works, transforming numerology into a powerful visual language.
