Daniel Geremus

Daniel Geremus, whose birth name is Daniel Jiřička, is a professional painter and self-taught artist who has been painting since 1995. He was born in 1969 in Lomnice nad Popelkou, where he has been nicknamed “Dalí” since his youth.
He has been drawn to painting since childhood. He decided on his future at the age of eleven, when he was deeply inspired by an exhibition of paintings by Josef Kábrt. Since then, painting has become an important part of his life and has gradually evolved into his professional path.
In 2019, he adopted his mother’s maiden name and has since been officially creating art under the name Daniel Geremus.
He has presented his works at a number of solo and international exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. His work has been on display, for example, in Prague, Hradec Králové, Jilemnice, Lomnice nad Popelkou, Semily, Třebíč, and other Czech cities, as well as in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Japan, and Australia. In 2017, he held a solo exhibition at Třebíč Castle, and his works were also featured in Melbourne.
International projects have also been a significant part of his exhibition activities, such as the 3rd Expo International in Ingolstadt and the international Quake Kyoto 2019 festival in Kyoto, Japan.
His work draws primarily on his many years of personal experience with painting and his own perspective on the world. His journey is an example of how a strong need to create can be a lifelong search for one’s own artistic language.
