A painter dedicated to classical oil painting on canvas. His work is rooted in many years of study and practice, combining technical precision with a sensitive perception of light, color, and narrative. He paints whatever speaks to him at that moment, whether it’s a human face, a landscape, a still life, or a subject with deeper meaning.

His favorite technique is layered oil painting, which allows him to achieve depth, luminosity, and a richness of hues. For him, each painting is a process of seeking harmony between detail and the whole, between reality and the emotion he wishes to convey to the viewer.

Evžen Ivanov is a long-time participant in the prestigious Film Clapperboard Salon (2022–2025), where he creates original clapperboards each year for the Zlín Film Festival and other film festivals. This regular participation allows him to combine artistic freedom with the thematic playfulness and symbolism of film.

Selected exhibitions include solo shows in Prague (Zojak Gallery, Russian Cultural Center, Jiří Konečný Gallery), in Moravia (Veselí nad Moravou, Ostrožská Nová Ves, Přerov, Ostrava), and abroad (Affordable Art Fair and Chelsea Art Fair in London, Art Ireland in Dublin, EE Fine Art in Cambridge, and the Dulwich Art Fair). In 2017, he participated in an exhibition marking the 500th anniversary of the Skorina Bible at the Klementinum under the auspices of the Lithuanian Embassy.

His works are represented in private collections in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and other countries. Evžen Ivanov creates with humility toward his craft and joy in each new canvas, always with the desire for his paintings to speak to the viewer, bring them pleasure, or make them pause for a moment.

He lives and works in the Czech Republic. His studio is a place where colors meet stories and where oil on canvas continues to speak its own language.
