Jana Žany Bierhanzlová

Jana is a talented artist who, in addition to music, also paints. As a professional guitarist and founder of the Czech Guitar Duo, she has been active on the arts scene since 1975; her passion for art was inspired by her grandfather, who introduced her to the magic of creativity during her childhood. For Jana, painting has become a way to express her inner feelings and thoughts. After years of the hectic life of a professional musician, she decided to fulfill her desires and began creating paintings that reflect her imagination and personal experiences. The colors and shapes in her works serve as a means for her to escape into a world of silence and intimacy—a stark contrast to her musical profession. Her paintings, signed with the nickname “Žany,” carry a spiritual and emotional charge. Jana is constantly moving forward, and her artistic style evolves in accordance with her thoughts and feelings. With each new piece, she seeks harmony between art and personal expression. Jana participates in a number of exhibitions where she presents her work to a wide audience. Her current project, “How I See It,” demonstrates how art can reflect not only the artist’s inner world but also her relationship with her surroundings. Jana is an example of an artist who combines music and painting into a unique expression of her inner self, thus giving viewers a glimpse into her soul.
