I was born in 1965. I spent my youth and teenage years in the South Bohemian village of Štěkeň, near the Otava River. I began painting when I was 23. I currently live in Strakonice.
In the beginning, I mainly painted landscapes of South Bohemia using oil on canvas.
Gradually, the subjects of my paintings became more general motifs, though they often drew inspiration from landscape elements. Architecture began to appear, and with it, figurative elements. I switched to acrylic paints and began using a palette knife more frequently.
These new painting techniques also led me to three-dimensional objects, which thus become three-dimensional paintings.
My role model is the renowned South Bohemian landscape painter Josef Milota, with whom I share a friendly relationship. The sculptor and painter Milan Doubrava was also a mentor and friend to me.
