Kateřina Hornychová

A dialogue between surface, texture, and color. My creative journey began with textile art and original clothing design, which I studied in Brno and Liberec. It was there that my distinctive style was born, based on the technique of hand-painting—a concept in which clothing becomes a canvas. This approach naturally led me to the free artistic practice to which I am dedicated today.

My work and style currently focus primarily on large-format painting (acrylic and oil), which I perceive as a space for complete freedom. My style has evolved from realistic motifs toward lyrical abstraction.

My works are characterized by: Layering and depth: I work with many layers of pigments and textures. Dynamic stylization: I combine realistic elements with two-dimensional stylization and the play of light. Inspiration from the microcosm: I am fascinated by the internal structures of nature, cellular tissues, and the invisible threads connecting the macrocosm with the microcosm.

In addition to painting on canvas, I create murals for interiors, design textiles, and lead art workshops where I share my experience with others. My works are now part of private art collections.
