Olga Chizhevskaia

I am delighted when my work resonates with those who view it. Thanks to my academic training in the fine arts, I combine various techniques and styles—oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolor. I approach painting in a way that allows the painting to “express itself,” and I often explore a single theme using different techniques, because I’m fascinated by how this changes the mood and expression of the work. I work with the contrasts between the delicacy of the glazing technique, the richness of impasto oil, the fragility of dry pastel, and the energy of layering or scraping oil pastel.

I also create illustrations of dreams and imaginings, which are part of my counseling practice. I am inspired by how a single image can evoke different emotions and experiences in different people.

I also enjoy creating commissioned works—highly personal drawings and paintings inspired by the radix (birth chart), New Year’s cards, calendars, or other pieces that reflect the personality and wishes of those for whom they are intended. Each painting is thus unique and tailored to its future owner.
