Patrik Horacio

A painter and illustrator of Spanish origin. He is a young artist with a distinctive, somewhat provocative style. His work can be divided into two categories. In terms of his drawings, which are predominantly figurative, he focuses on depicting the human body in all its aspects, as he himself says: "I simply depict the human body and everything that goes with it, just as it is, just as God created it. People have turned nudity and everything associated with it into something crude and vulgar that should be hidden from the public. I hate censorship... In my view, art should depict the truth and reality and then distort them into certain forms; only then is it true art to me.” In his body of work to date, we encounter landscape motifs most frequently; he perceives the landscape itself as the human body in another form—more expansive, yet equally fascinating and breathtaking. These are primarily Spanish landscape paintings of the island of Mallorca, where a large part of his family comes from. Understandably, he himself has a deep connection to the island itself, which he also interprets in his paintings. He comes from a family of artists; his great-grandmother was a painter, and his father spent some time drawing caricatures for magazines and comics—which he drew specifically for his son. When Patrik saw his father’s comics, he began to imitate him and drew them alongside him. This sparked his love for the visual arts, which, as he himself says, means everything to him.
