Pavol Tarasovič (1961, Bardejov) A painter and restorer whose artistic work is based on a combination of expert knowledge of artistic techniques, many years of working with historical artworks, and a distinctive painting style. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Košice (1976–1982) under the guidance of Prof. Feďkovič. From 1983 to 1985, he completed specialized training in restoration at the State Restoration Studios in Bratislava. Since 1985, he has worked at the Šariš Museum in Bardejov as a restorer and head of the Department of Chamber Painting and Sculpture. This professional experience has significantly influenced his perception of the image, particularly his work with materials, structure, color composition, and expression. In his personal artistic practice, he explores themes in which he interweaves historical references, symbolism, human stories, and fantasy. His paintings are characterized by a distinctive atmosphere, a keen sense of composition, and the ability to create a visual world that straddles the line between reality and imagination.
