Richard Görög

Hi, my name is Richard Görög and I currently live and work in Trinec. I am a self-taught painter, who returned to painting after a long break, broken by the wounds of fate after a car accident, betrayal and betrayals in the family, in business and then in employment. I paint with the technique of pouring acrylic paint - pouring, dots painting and the technique of pastoral painting - with a painting knife and spatula. I paint abstract paintings, sometimes with elements of symbolism. Usually something different and surprising than the original intention is created under my hands. And that's what fascinates me about painting and creating. Without trying to interfere and influence. How many times, though, a cast painting has immediately turned into a spatula painting (after scraping of course :-) - that's the emotion and energy in painting. I honor the fact that one should paint what cannot be seen or can be seen differently. I took a lot of inspiration from František Kupka, Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter. I prefer to paint on wood panels - mahogany, ash and cherry veneer on (DTD) board, depending on the desired colour of the ground. The unique texture of each wood is the antithesis of the monotonous machine weave of the canvas.
