What happens to the painting after it is purchased from Original Gallery?
The customer views the painting on the screen: a few photos, a description, the artist’s name, and the dimensions. They click “Buy.” And it seems that’s all there is to it. For us, however, this is precisely when the next stage begins, the painting’s journey to its new home. At Original Gallery, we operate both online and offline. That’s why it’s important to us that a buyer selecting a piece online feels just as confident as someone standing in front of the painting at our gallery in Prague.
First, we'll check the work
We inspect every painting purchased before shipping it.
This is essential to us.
The buyer must receive exactly the artwork they selected.
We carefully inspect the artwork before packing it and preparing it for shipment.
Framing to follow
If a customer chooses to have a piece framed, we will frame it at our gallery.
A frame can completely change the way a painting is perceived.
That is why we do not treat this as a technical service, but as an extension of the artwork itself.
And then the packaging
An original painting is not shipped as a regular package.
We carefully prepare it for shipment to ensure it reaches its new owner safely.
And a new story begins.
The most beautiful moment is when a painting leaves the gallery.
It was created by one person.
It found another person.
And now it becomes part of a new space.
Sometimes it’s a living room.
Sometimes a bedroom.
Sometimes an office.
And sometimes a place that someone is just beginning to create.
And that’s exactly why we call it “The Journey of the Painting.” An artist creates a work of art. It appears in the Original Gallery. Someone finds it online or at our gallery in Prague. They place an order. We inspect the artwork. If necessary, we frame it. We pack it carefully. And we ship it to its new home. And then we’re truly delighted when we see a photo of the painting already hanging in the new owner’s home, if they choose to share it with us. Because at that moment, we see what matters most: the painting is no longer just a work of art on a website. It has become a part of someone’s life.
