"Duck Gathering" is an original acrylic on canvas, 50 cm wide and 70 cm high. Hand-painted, with pearlescent tones. It is neither a print nor a copy.
A duck is spreading its wings, and two grebes are on the water. The water’s surface is light blue and green.
At 70 cm tall, it’s best suited for a taller wall. Since it’s only 50 cm wide, it won’t fit above a wide sofa.
Three distinct bird personalities met for a moment on the surface of the lake. While the duck is spreading its wings and preparing to take flight, the grebes quietly watch it from the water. The painting captures an ordinary moment in nature, yet one that carries a special sense of calm and lightness. While painting, I tried to capture not only the appearance of the birds but also the atmosphere of the morning light reflecting off the water’s surface. The soft pastel shades are complemented by a pearlescent paint, which creates subtle reflections when light hits the painting and makes it appear more vivid. Every glance and every angle of light can thus reveal a slightly different detail.
