Description
The sugar is gone. All that’s left is the stamp.
Burlap from Dobrovice, packing year 1991, rope tied in a cross, holes, a singed edge, a scrap of newspaper. It’s not a landscape painting. It’s a package that arrived late and became a wall hanging.
From a distance, a quiet, brown square in a black frame.
Up close, the weave of jute, the printed letters, the knot in the twine.
For the study, the hall, the living room—to go with wood and concrete. Next to pure acrylic, it will look rough. That’s where it belongs.
Original.
