Muscles, strength, weapons... they rust.
Like this painting.
Sometimes.
In elementary school, my favorite classes were gym and art. And Arnold Schwarzenegger. When we went on a school trip to Prague and were then assigned a project in art class to paint what we liked best about the trip, I painted Arnold. Of course, it had nothing to do with the field trip. Now, with nostalgia and a grown-up’s pseudo-ironic detachment, I’ve painted him again, and I ask myself: how important are muscles from an aesthetic standpoint? In most cases, they probably do rust sooner or later, but in Arnold’s case, those muscles changed the world. And they probably will for a while longer....
But at least when it comes to those weapons, I hope they do rust.
