Description
Peonies in a Vase. Still Life. The Tones of the Flowers and the Vase. Oil on wood, 60 × 70 cm
Peonies in a vase, painted on wood. The surface holds the paint differently than canvas: more densely, closer to the subject. Peonies in a Vase is a still life about the weight of the flower and the silence that surrounds the bouquet. The viewer is meant to sense the scent, the volume of the petals, and the warmth of the material. The work is on display at the Original Gallery in the Adria Palace.
