Quiet Fracture

Description

Alcohol-based inks on paper. This work was created using the technique of painting with alcohol-based inks—a fluid, unique medium that defies complete control. The artist determines the initial direction, but the final form is shaped by chance and the physical properties of the liquid: the ink carves its own paths and creates layered transitions in which one shade flows seamlessly into another. The composition is interwoven with thin, barely perceptible break lines that contrast with the calm, misty flows of gray and pearlescent colors. This is not a dramatic rupture, but a quiet internal tension—a fissure that does not disrupt the integrity of the whole, but rather becomes part of it. This is precisely the central idea of the work: stability does not mean the absence of fractures, but the ability to maintain balance in spite of them.

Reliability does not arise from smoothness, but from an internal fracture that has been overcome and survived. The technique itself becomes a metaphor for the work’s meaning; the artist entrusts the process to the material and her own subconscious, thereby allowing the image to emerge on its own, just as human resilience is shaped not by a plan, but through the unpredictable, silent fissures of lived experience.
