Description
The colors here aren’t sorted into stalls. Yellow, vermilion, and blue blend together, and gray then drowns them out, like dust after a day when everything was on offer all at once. Beneath that gray veil, the market is still bustling.
Subject: non-representational, all-over composition. No scene, no figure. Just layers, scratches, and spots where the pure paint hasn’t yet been covered.
Style: Abstract Expressionism. Impressionistic acrylic, overpainting, grooves in wet paint. Gestural painting; movement remains within the surface.
From a distance, a restless, urban wall. Up close, red and yellow beneath the gray, thin grooves like threads across the canvas.
It works well in a living room or entryway. It complements concrete, black metal, and dark wood. In a completely white room, it will stand out—that’s its purpose.
