Description
Walnut and beech have made it possible to give form to a man who does not float above the earth, but on a rainbow, in the clouds, and in the rising currents of nirvana. The body is wrapped in layers; the face remains serene, as if movement no longer requires effort. The sculpture imbues the wood with a lightness that is not otherwise inherent to the material. The viewer is meant to sense the ascent, the protection, and the quiet smile of one who has broken free from the weight of the world.
Figurative woodcarving with polychrome; spiritual figure. Dominant colors: natural walnut and beech, with turquoise, orange, and green.
