Description
A work from a burned-down cabin.
The wood has been through the fire and remains a figure. The body is black, the bark cracked, the legs dangling in the air. A belt holds her to a pole. This Venus is not made of marble. It is wood that the fire did not consume entirely.
From a distance, a black silhouette on a slender axis.
Up close, a crack in the charred wood, a screw in the belt, the rough texture of the wood. For a pedestal, a hallway, or a living room. It needs open space around it—it’s not a picture to hang on a nail.
