Description
Peonies, figurative watercolor, tones of flowers and light, watercolor on paper, 29 × 40 cm
Peonies appear lighter in watercolor than in oil: the water carries the petals, and the paper allows light to shine through. The flower remains full, but the edges may dissolve. The painting captures fragility, not mass. The viewer should sense the moisture, the scent, and that brief abundance that does not last long with peonies. We recommend a mat and glass.
