Description

Expressive abstract-figurative painting, a mixed-media technique featuring layering and scraping of paint, textural applications, and dynamic, gestural brushstrokes. Not all beings need portals to cross the boundary of the universe.

Some are born between universes.

The painting depicts a pair of Messengers, ancient beings whose bodies can exist in several layers of reality simultaneously. The light, elongated forms represent only the part of their bodies that is visible in the material universe at any given moment. The rest extends beyond it.

The Messengers have not established their own realm or army. For millions of years, they have wandered between different universes, conveying messages between civilizations that would otherwise never have been able to meet.

They do not use language.

They carry the message within themselves.

When they arrive at their destination, part of their structure disintegrates and reassembles itself according to the physical laws of the target world. That is why no Messenger ever looks the same twice, and every journey changes them slightly.

During the War of the Universes, their ability becomes invaluable. While communication networks collapse and portals are destroyed, the Messengers continue to cross the front lines of the conflict.

One day, two of them appear before the heroes.

The first brings a message from a universe they knew existed.

The second brings a reply from someone who, to the best of their knowledge, cannot exist.
