An abstract painting on canvas, created using mixed media with layering, scraping, and gestural strokes, complemented by tiny dot-like structures that evoke the impression of a data and navigation interface.
On board the ship *The Answer*, there is no map in the conventional sense.
When traveling between galaxies, it is no longer enough to determine the ship’s position and its destination. The quantum navigation computer must simultaneously monitor gravity, time, probability, hyperspace passages, and the possible futures of every maneuver.
The painting depicts its navigation interface during flight.
The central irregular structure represents the area of space currently being calculated. The green, pink, yellow, and black fragments are passages, gravitational anomalies, and possible trajectories.
Some exist only as probabilities and disappear before the ship even approaches them.
The tiny colored dots on the right are not stars.
They are quantum navigation markers.
Each group indicates a different type of information: the stability of the route, a time shift, the risk of the trajectory breaking down, or the probability that, after passing through, the ship will end up in the same version of reality from which it set out.
A human wouldn’t be able to read a map like this.
That’s why the computer doesn’t translate it into numbers. It converts it into shapes, colors, and relationships that the heroes can perceive as a whole.
During one of the journeys, however, something unusual appears on the screen.
A new route.
No one entered it.
It doesn’t originate from any known portal, and its destination isn’t in any galaxy listed in the Atlas. Yet the computer evaluates it as more stable than all other options.
The crew hesitates for a long time, wondering if it’s a mistake.
Then Nara notices that the navigation points on the right edge aren’t random clusters.
Someone arranged them.
They aren’t coordinates.
It’s an invitation.
