Description
Abstract expressive painting. A mixed-media, layered technique featuring long, gestural strokes, the wiping away of pigment, the blending of streams of color, and a pasty texture in places. Light did not yet exist.
But neither did darkness.
There was no space to pass through, nor time in which anything could begin. There existed only the Beyond-Universe—an infinite field of possibilities that had not yet taken shape, direction, or name.
The painting captures the first tremors of this field.
The dark green, blue, and black currents are neither galaxies nor cosmic nebulae. Universes do not yet exist at this moment.
They are possibilities of future realities that move across the canvas, collide, intensify, and vanish once more.
Amid the dark flow, a tiny golden flash appears.
It is not a star.
It is the first difference.
The first moment when one possibility does not fade away like the others. It trembles, returns to itself, and creates an echo—not an echo of sound—for there is no air or space yet—but an echo of the relationship between what could have come into being and what is actually beginning to happen.
Rhythm arises from repetition.
Time arises from rhythm.
Energy arises from difference.
Matter arises from tension.
Individual streams of color gradually separate, and each one may one day carry its own universe, its own laws, its own stars, and life. The violet layer at the distant edge hints at a reality that will take a different course and will never be fully compatible with our own.
No one has observed this event.
There has not yet been anyone who could name it.
Nevertheless, its echo has remained imprinted in all subsequent worlds—in the motion of galaxies, in the rhythm of time, in the memory of matter, and in the restlessness of consciousness, which continues to ask where it came from.
The universe did not begin with an explosion.
It began at the moment when reality first spoke to itself, and the answer did not fade away.
