Požírač galaxií (Galaxy Eater)

Description

Expressive abstract-figurative painting, a combined layered technique featuring impasto, swirling gestural strokes, and striking contrasts between fiery, golden, and dark swaths of color. It did not feed on stars.

It did not feed on planets.

It fed on the futures that could grow from them.

The painting depicts an ancient dark matter predator, a being originating from the same evolutionary branch as Sahr. However, it existed long before its species knew names, agreements, and boundaries.

Its body is not made of continuous matter. It consists of possibilities it has taken from other worlds. Every spiral within it is the remnant of a single future. Every fiery stream carries extinct civilizations, unborn lives, and paths that no one will ever take.

The green vortex in the center of the image represents the last future of the entire galaxy that is still alive.

When the creature devours it, the galaxy will not explode. Its stars may continue to shine for a long time, and its planets may continue to orbit. However, any event that might follow will cease to exist.

Children will not be born.

Messages will not find their recipients.

The light sent yesterday will never arrive tomorrow.

The ship Answer finds the creature in a region filled with bright but causally dead galaxies. In its hunger, Sahr immediately recognizes his own origin, as well as what he might become if he were to one day devour too many possibilities and leave the world with only a single one.

He could attack the creature and devour it.

But such a victory would turn him into the very thing he fears.

So Sahr approaches unarmed and offers it something it has never received: a name, a boundary, and a single future that it must be allowed to remain free.

The Galaxy Eater pauses.

The green vortex is still alive.

But then all of its eyes turn to a single point on the map.

To the heroes’ home.
