Description
Peony Flowers, Realism. Shades of flowers and leaves. Oil painting on a round canvas; listed in the catalog as 40 × 50 cm
The peonies fit perfectly into the round format, as if in a window: a flower, a leaf—nothing more. This realistic painting captures the volume of the petals and the fragility that peonies do not retain for long. Peonies are a still life of abundance, not an arrangement. The viewer is meant to feel the weight of the flower, its scent, and the silence, which the round shape further intensifies.
