Description
In Ukraine, I painted a series of watercolors titled “The Ukrainian Carpathians.” I painted from life or from my own photos. I rarely visit Ukraine, and the landscape is constantly changing. That’s why I really wanted to capture this exact moment. Perhaps in a year, something will be different: new areas of cleared forest, or, conversely, a new young forest. And only the mountains remain unchanged, shifting their appearance with the seasons. The painting “Path Through a Cleared Forest” was painted from life to commemorate this moment. This mountain was once covered in primeval forests, but now the forest has been cleared and blueberries grow there. Locals walk along this path to pick blueberries. Eventually, the mountain will be covered in forest again, but I don’t know if the forest will become old and mysterious? Or will it be cut down again before it has a chance to grow and age?
