Description
Luncheon is a naive painting that aims, in a humorous way, to comment on the quality of a delicacy that has been on the market for almost a hundred years and remains a great testimony to what people are willing to cram into their stomachs. Above all, however, I was struck by the joke with the unintentionally combined meaning of the words Lunch and EON. The mole, who is digging and hopelessly searching for earthworms, is wide-eyed at what he managed to dig up in that inhospitable landscape.
